Get answers to common questions about Lip Wax.
Most clients enjoy hair-free upper lips for two to six weeks, depending on hair growth cycles and individual hormones. Regular waxing can slow regrowth and lead to finer hair over time. Schedule maintenance every 3–4 weeks for consistent results.
You may feel brief discomfort as hair is removed from the root, but waxing is quick and tolerable. Our therapists use soothing techniques and temperature-controlled wax to minimize pain. Aftercare reduces sensitivity and any temporary redness should subside within hours.
Ensure hair is at least ¼ inch long so the wax can grip properly. Avoid retinoids, exfoliation, and sun exposure 48 hours before. Clean skin free of makeup and oil helps the therapist perform a safe, effective treatment.
Wait until hair has regrown to about 1/4 inch, usually two to four weeks, before rebooking. Frequent regular appointments help maintain smoother results and reduce breakage from waxing too-short hair.
Common immediate effects include mild redness, temporary sensitivity, or small bumps; these usually resolve within a few hours to a day. Avoid heat, heavy exercise, and exfoliation for 24–48 hours, and apply soothing gel if needed.
It's best to wait at least a few hours before applying makeup to reduce infection risk and irritation. If necessary, use clean, non-comedogenic products and avoid heavy foundation or tight coverage directly on freshly waxed skin for 24 hours.
